Ranch Work Day

Come out to the Ranch and help us do some cleanup and maintenance in preparation for our Open House on October 30th. We would love your help in this important step in kicking off our ministry. All ages welcome. Please look at the lists below and let us know what you may be able to help with.

About The Event

We will kick off the day at 10:00 with a prayer followed by a divying of tasks between those present. Some of the tasks we have require experience but most of them do not. We hope to get most of these done over two work days (October 9th and October 16th) in preparation for our Groundbreaking/Open House on November 1st.

Requested Expertise (these tasks require previouse experience on task or significant strength):

Set posts for round pen

Repair wood stairs on the barn porch

Clear a path to lower field

Drive t-posts for electric gate by barn

Remove building debris from under barn

Trim tree branches around fences and in Arboretum

Move large locust tree logs from barn office

Kayak/Canoe through the pond, scooping up debris and checking pond depth *kayak or canoe needed

Remove/restring barn wiring *this will be an ongoing project

We will supply tools and other items needed for the above tasks

General Tasks

Clean out barn office, deep clean

Remove everything on the barn porch

Move horse feed to barn office

Remove cobwebs from barn stalls and aisle

Clear out barn stalls

Clean up fire pit area, add benches/seating

Whitewash barn stalls and paint office door

Set up tack area

Hang whiteboard in office

Muck out horse track

Treat pond to remove sediment

Watch kiddos for parents who want to help out (we can provide some activities to help keep kids occupied)

*We are also looking for a riding demo volunteeer - we will need you to come out a couple of times to get a feel for our program methodology

We also have a variety of administrative tasks that need to be completed in preparation for our Groundbreaking/Open House.

Administrative

Save the Date and Invitation design

Signage planning and design

Design future facitities visual layout for presentation

Help plan and draft Info Packets for guests

Help organize "Rubber Duckies Project"

Organize plans for setup - chairs, tables, decor, etc.

Groom horses (November 1st early afternoon)

Be a part of a welcoming team for the November 1st event
